So, it's a Tuesday night and I've been twittering like mad today from work...

But now, it's time for me to be annoying on LJ to pimp my radio show!  *laugh*

Any requests?

I've got tons of music between my computers and am always willing to go on a hunt for more!

AIM, MSN, ICQ:  LadyNiko

Yahell:  Miz_Niko or LadyNiko (I'm logged in as Miz_Niko right now on the laptop)

Twitter:  LadyNiko

IRC:  #tes on the DarkMyst server (Mibbit.com has a direct link to Darkmyst) as DJ_RangerNiko and when I'm not DJ'ing, I'm usually around as LadyNiko (and, sometimes duplicating as Niko-Clone depending on if I have the tower logged in or not. :p)

Now that I've given you tons of ways to send in your requests - what do you want to hear?  I've got oodles of 80's music, soundtracks, musicals, classic rock.....

Eureka Airdates, Trailers & Twitterings

For those of you who Twitter, there is @_S_A_R_A_H & @charliecraig on Twitter now to follow for Eureka tidbits.

Sci-Fi has announced that in an attempt to rebuild Sci-Friday, Eureka is moving to Friday nights at 9/8 Central time as of July 10th.

There are 2 new trailers up on the Skiffy site now too (don't know if they will work for non-US folks)

Sci-Fi Trailer # 1

and

Sci-Fi Trailer #2

Not as splashy as the "Won't You be My Neighbor" clips we had for the beginning of S3, however, lots of promising actions clips and such.

So, we have a date and it's just 6 weeks out now!  Hoorah!!!

Who's up for a Eureka party that weekend?

Beta Request?

Hey Folks -

I need a BETA (pun intended there!) reader for Ch. 12 of CCQ - my overdue Real Adventures of Jonny Quest fic.

Anyone willing to read it over and tell me if it's too long or full of holes - grammatically or plot wise?

Just let me know what format you want it in, since I'm running Open Office and can convert to almost anything.  ;)

I stole the station! *g*

So, DJ_Dresden seems to be MIA again - no clue what happened there and on Tuesday, I seemed to be having technical difficulties....  So, I am stealing the station now that I am not rushed and I have my playlist set up the way I want it.

The starting theme for tonight - GIRL POWER.  All the songs in the first section of my playlist will have to do with us ladies.

You know what that means?  If I don't have a "Girl Power" song you think I should play and I don't have it, you need to email it to me.  *lol*

Where to tune in:  http://www.Live365.com/stations/theeclecticsoul

My E-mail addy - this user name at yahoo dot com .

My AIM, ICQ & MSN ids are all the same as my LJ user name.  Yahell - Miz_Niko (I was doing this so I could keep LadyNiko for the tower & Miz_Niko for when I was not home or on laptop - which is where I am currently.)

IRC:  irc.darkmyst.org or http://www.darkmyst.org - #tes is the station chat room and my handle is DJ_RangerNiko.

That make sense to you folks?  ;)  I'm coming off a whirlwind tour of a few cities this last month and my brain is a bit fried!  *lol*

So, it's a wiiiiiiindy and cold day here today and what am I to do?  Steal the station!  ;)

I am live with a 13 hour long playlist and taking requests!  http://www.live365.com/theeclecticsoul is where to tune in.  To send requests, AIM or ICQ - same id as here,

I'm a DJ! *laugh*

Sooooo....  one of my IRC friends who only lives a couple of hours from me, totally wrangled, twisted & made me go be a DJ for an online radio station.  *laugh*

I am taking the Tuesday night slots, so tune on in at:  http://www.live365.com/theeclecticsoul

I will take requests here, IRC - #tes at http://www.irc.darkmyst.org or LadyNiko on AIM & ICQ.

If it's something I don't have, and you do, I will give you my email addy to send it on over to, because DCC on IRC doesn't seem to work for me and AIM & ICQ are sometimes tricky doing file transfers for me (like when I'm doing torrents...)

So, if you've got something in particular you want to hear, go ahead and tag me with it - I am flexible in what I will play, folks!  I just don't have a super collection of music on the computer I'm using to DJ right now, since I'm using my laptop, which is *supposed* to be for business purposes.  :-p

Back to the music for me!

Oh, How I wish Elizabeth Weir were a Real Person....

Why?  Because I so could have used her help in dealing w/ the Batshit Crazy Lady who has been stressing me out these past few weeks. Her, Teyla or Niko w/ her psychic talents would have been of great help!  :-p

Here's the full meltdown of events that have led to my pulling all my stuff from WHAC.

So, I am done with the Washington Healing Arts Center. I am done with the hypocrisy, the insanity and the stress of it all. Karma will come back and totally bite Batshit Crazy Lady in the ass here. I can get her in trouble with the state for running a massage business without all the proper licensing in place. (She has to, as the building owner, get a business license from the state in order to have MTs working there – even though we are all individual business.) But, I won't. At least not yet. I will wait a while and let the dust settle before I do an anonymous report to the state.

Anyone else exhausted by all this?  I know I am!

Spam E-mail - Oh, how thou amuse me so! :)

This is a direct cross-post from my LJ, since I'm too lazy to really change this.  :-p

Spam is annoying, but hey, I've got decent filtering set up on my personal email account so most of the junk email is caught.  I go look at the spam folder every few days to go see if there's anything in there that doesn't need to be. (My working account, I get some, but mostly it's about job stuff.)

However, the sex spam email subject lines are quite amusing....

"Make sure she is never short of action" or "Plunge deeper inside her with your new tool" and, last but not least....  this one totally killed me, "Your love rod is set to set her on fire."

Love rod????????

What normal guy calls their "equipment" a "love rod?"

Sorry, give me a moment while I go over here and go die laughing.......

Okay, time to go dust mop the floors here at Le Office - want to get as much housework done before 2 pm, so if I do come over tomorrow to try and drum up business during the bike race, I won't have to worry about the place not looking good.  :)

Damn you, SGA :(

Okay, Joe Mallozzi & Paul Mullie have proven once again that they are assholes.......

Plain and simple - chauvanistic bastards.

Torri Higginson was soooooooo right now to return to SGA for this script!  Damn the producers to hell for their treatment of such a wonderful character and the soul of Atlantis.

Carson is the heart, but Liz is the soul and always will be as far as many of us are concerned.  McKay's the intelligence, Sheppard is the smarts, Ronon the guts and Teyla the wisdom.  Sounds kind of corny, but couldn't figure out a way to really describe her here w/o sounding corny.

Oh well, I need to call co-worker Melody & see if she is coming for our 1 pm clients today.  She still has to get her table set up for this, since we share a room most of the time, and we have 2 clients at once, therefore, it's not possible to do that in that small of a room.  ;)

Eureka Season 3 Promo & Pictures

So, the folks at Eureka have been busy....  I love the gorgeous & omg huge promo shots over on spoiler tv. But, it gets even better....  they did an awesome promo ad here - to the theme from Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.

I still say I have major piano envy....  because a) it's Henry sitting at the piano and b) it's a full grand!  Just one week to go now for Eureka....  wheee!

Because Rodney McKay is a cat person.... :)

So, I borrowed the Mother Unit's camera to take better pictures of the office and of the house down the street that burned the other night.  (Last week Tuesday night, about 1 am, all the fire trucks in the city come roaring up and down Jefferson for this abandoned house fire down and across the street from me....  and, everyone stood around and watched it burn.  They didn't deploy the hoses until after the fire was out.  :p)

Tonight, his Royal Majesty Lovecraft was being exceptionally sprawling at the foot of my bed, so I had to take photos of him and stack stuff on him.

I had to do this one, because come on - it's Galaxy Rangers, and if I get that posted on Stuffonmycat.com then I will have given another audience to maybe know and remember GR.  *eg*

So, in talking with [info]bruinhilda , Trivia and Lissy on #galaxyrangers tonight, I mention that I had to do the GR spread & Triv's comment was "*snerk* gives a new meaning to the term 'no guts no glory'" which just had me laughing....  :)

Because, as you can see, he's not starving to death - no matter what he says!  :p
and there you have it....  more pics of him can be found here

Quick Family Babble

Okay,

my oldest sister Shelly doesn't have to move now, nor does she have to go hunting for a new job.....  :-p  She works as Director of Revenue for Anheuser Busch Entertainment Corp. and that whole arm of AB is relocating to Orlando, FL now w/ Auggie IV heading up the company.  (He doesn't like the parks, his father does....  therefore, he's looking to distance himself from the parks.

Apparently, it was either relocate to FL with the job and risk being out of a job when Auggie IV sells the parks off or brings in a French firm to manage them,  (I'm thinking it will be Vivendi, since that's the French firm who owns Universal.) or find a job possibly outside of the brewery.

Well, she was sort of panicking about this around Easter, I think, going, "Oh, I'm going to be out of a job come June...."  But, like her boss, who is a Busch family member, I think, was going, "Don't worry.  You won't be out of a job..."

Come to find out, they flew her out to Boston on the company jet for an interview, since they didn't want anyone back in STL to know she was interviewing for this job as like NE region sales analyst.

But, no worries - she got the job.  Almost like there was any doubt about it.  The twins are going to be 12 this year and she's been there since well before they were born.  I remember the whole hubbub about them putting a recliner in her office when she was preggers w/ them to make sure she rested.  I think she's been with them since 1990-ish?  Because, she was still living in St. Charles when she first started working for them.....  :)

This will make like her 3rd arm of AB that she's worked for now - the merchandising catalog , the entertainment corp. and now, the Brewery proper in her new role.  She is supposed to be moving onto the Brewery campus proper this fall, apparently, as that her current office building she will be moving into is going to be demolished, she's been told.  She is sorry about that, because with working just off the main campus, she doesn't have to fight for parking and all the traffic madness getting in & out of the Brewery.

However, she did get a good raise with her new job, so she is definitely the bread winner in their family vs. my bro-in-law Steve.  :-p

Quick Health Update

Okay, just a quick not here to let everyone know that the spider bite saga seems to be at an end.  ;)

I had my appointment last week Monday w/ Dr. Limpert at Bellevue Surgical Assoc. at St. Mary's Hosp. in STL.  She was very pleased w/ the way the whole region had healed and said she wanted to do a mammogram just to be on the safe side before releasing me as a patient.

So, she calls over to get it set up for me to go get scanned for free and I have to sit, sign in, wait, wait, go back and change, then wait some more.  Do one set of scans and then wait for the doctor to do a quick review before ordering up more scans and an ultrasound of the right side.

I do that and had a bit of a panic attack when I got a call like the following day from the nurse at the Women's Imaging Center telling me the Susan G. Komen foundation wouldn't cover my scan because I'm under 40.  Grrrr...  So, she asks a bunch of questions and says she's going to work the system so I will be covered under medicaid.

Friday morning I go off to go see Speed Racer at the Wehrenberg Chesterfield Galaxy 16 Theater (megascreen, digital presentation for $6 - oh yeah!) and come home to a call from Angie, the nurse at the imaging center - it's all covered.

Saturday's mail tells me that my scans all came back clear.

What does that mean in the long run - it's over.  No more doctor visits for this spider bite and no more worrying about it arranging the times to get down to the hospital and so forth.

Yippee!!!

Now, I just need to break in the new over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders I got from the specialty shop the other week.  I love the sports bra - it totally pulls everything up and back and is mostly comfortable at it.  The black underwire still needs help....  It's almost too damn tight in the band and I'm having a hard time getting it on.  Funny how the girl was like, "Oh, you're a 38!"  Yet, the black underwire is a 40 band and the sports bra is a 42.  :-p

So, now I have a better idea on size - was not too surprised to see the letter size now go up.  There's still some swelling, I think on the right side that makes me feel a bit off balance, but I think the new over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders will compress it down quite nicely.  Still thinking that if I lose enough weight, I can get a surgeon to help take some of this excess adipose tissue away.  :-p

However, I have fliers I still need to print out for this spa day thingy I'm going at a church tomorrow.

Enough babbling from me!

Summary in Open Office, anyone?

Hey,

Anyone know how to do a summary of like cells d4 to d54?  I want to add them all together & come up w/ a total sum (of miles driven for work).

No more antibiotics!

Okay,

made it to surgeon last week (late, no thanks to the Evil One for not being ready when I rolled up!) for her to say that everything is looking good and that she thinks we're done w/ the infection, so no more antibiotics.  She wants to see me in a month for a follow up visit just to make sure everything is healing right.  :)

Soooo...  happy dance!  No more pill popping for now!  :-p

Oh, and LJ - you suck big time.  Why won't you let me answer a post on the Sheppard_hc com!  :-p

Mar. 22nd, 2008

Day... What of Antibiotics....

Okay, I have been on antibiotics since Feb. 28.

I ended up at a Doc in the Box on Thurs. 2/28 and spent $115 for him to say, "Yep.  Infection.  You need to see a surgeon, since due to location of infection, I can't treat this here."

Gave me a scrip for Augmentin and that's not one of the cheap/freebie antibiotics, oh no....  that was like $145 for just 10 days worth!

So, I go see a surgeon - Dr. Patricia Limpert on Monday 3/3.  She says, "Oh, we can take care of this in office!  We'll just do a local and lance the infection, then do a biopsy just to be certain that the hardness is not cancer."

I ended up w/ like a 3/4 in long incision that is deeeeeeep into the side of the adipose tissue up front on the chest - right where the underwire for an over the shoulder boulder holder would go.

Doc then put me on Bactrim - hooray!  FREE antibiotic this time!  For a MONTH.  Yes. she put me on it for a MONTH.  First follow up visit is that Thursday the 7th, she adds in Clindamycin, again for a MONTH.  3 pills at a time for four times a day, again for a MONTH.

Bad news, Clindamycin is not on the freebie list, but gal at Schnuck's pharmacy works the computer so I can get it for $50.  Hoorah.  That's better than Wally which would have been over $100 again.

Go back on Friday, this time for the Evil One to get instructions on cleaning and packing the wound.  I can't do it because a) I'm a lefty and b) location of the wound is way over on my right side and c) just the thought of dealing w/ that mess - oh yuck.

Over the weekend, the high dosage of Clindamycin starts doing exactly as warned - digestive issues.  I tough it out until Monday, go back to see doc & she takes me down to 2x/day on that drug.  I still get the acid reflux from hell on occasion, but it's not constant.

Go back this past Monday and she's all pleased w/ the way things are progressing.  She sees the swelling, hardness, and redness from the infection all receding and doesn't think that more surgery (this time general anesthetic, for total debriding ) will be necessary and says, "Hey, if incision closes, no worries.  I think you should be fine w/o having to reopen and continuing to pack the wound.  Come back in 2 weeks."

Evil One is still leary...  he thinks that the incision should stay open to allow for more draining and for internal wound check progress, but we will see.

In the meantime, I am popping 3 Clindamycin, 1 acidophilus, and 1 bactrim in the morning, and then, repeating the Bactrim and Clindamycin at night.

So, what started all this off?  A spider bite.  A flipping spider bite that healed over and instead of ejecting the bacteria from the bite, the bacteria went deep into the tissue and started this whole massive infection.

I hate spiders more than ever now.  I so need to clean more out of my apartment and take more clothes off to like Good Will & Loving Hearts, but that will have to wait until after next week - I am off to Memphis on Weds. for 5 days.  It's Midsouth Con!

Today, however, I am going to hit Fashion Bug for some over the shoulder boulder holders and maybe a pair of jeans.  1 of 4 stores I'm going to hit will have to have jeans I like, that fit right!  Fashion Bug, Wally, Avenue, and maybe head up to Lane Bryant at like West Co. Mall...  I don't know.  It all depends on how I feel.  My head is so stuffed up right now from the super high mold count (Gee, SIX INCHES of rain in 36 hours?!) that I can't breathe.

Ugh.  I hate allergies.

And there you have it....  this is what's been consuming my life for the last few weeks.  A spider bite of all things!

Mar. 21st, 2008

Yeah, WTF Moment Number 86043?

Okay,

I make a post on LJ this morning talking about the BBC press release on Dr. Who Season 4's start date.  So, I don't see the post immediately on the tennant_love com, so I put the post there.

2 comments on it.

1 person's reply was just the link to the news being posted elsewhere in the com (Okay, so you can't be bothered to say, "Oh hey, look, it's over here!")

Person 2:  "I know it seems pissy, but could you put a break in that sentence? It's messing up my friends page. Thank you! :-)"

I'm just sitting here going, "Uhm, yeah, I'll hop right on that for you...."

Yeah, I need food.  Now.  Haven't eaten anything yet all day, just drank mugs & mugs of tea to take my drugs....  1 acidophilus, 1 bactrim, 3 clindamycin, 3 vitamin c, because I seem to be getting a cold NOW of all times!

Grrr!

Memphis is in FIVE DAYS.  I can't wait!  :)

Oh, happy happy joy joy!  Must get Gooshy Food for His Majesty this weekend. That's his bribery for me deserting him for 5 days.

Eureka Production Order Upped!

Straight from Visiteureka.net

Breaking News: 21 Episodes Ordered
by Ian Mullen  |  Tuesday, March 18, 2008 - 02:46 CT

A source on the production of Eureka has confirmed exclusively to VisitEureka.net that SCI FI Channel have upped their order from 13 to 21 episodes. Details are brief, however. SCI FI Channel are said to be planning on splitting these episodes into "two seasons of 8 and 13".

This could mean that the 21 episodes will be broadcast in the style of Psych and Monk on USA Network - a handful in the Summer, and then the rest in January, with a new season starting in the Summer of the same year. The alternative is that SCI FI has effectively ordered a fourth season, with 13 episodes airing Summer 2008 and 8 airing Summer 2009 (or vice versa).

This is not confirmed, however. We can only confirm that SCI FI have ordered 21 episodes - when they'll air is still unknown. We'll update you as soon as we know more!

*twirls about in glee!*

LJ you suck :-p

Okay, apparently LJ sucketh most fantastically this morning - three different people in various parts of the world can't get it to respond - d'oh.  :p

Anyway....  dr's appt for me - wheee!  I get to have the wound packing taken out today & probably fresh stuff put in,  Either way, I'm glad the doc gets to deal w/ it, because I really don't like looking at that much blood!  :p

Feb. 28th, 2008

Pain :(

Yeah, I'm having icky girl health probs that have taken a scarey turn.  The outside curve of my right breast is totally inflamed here.

I have an appt for a free mammogram on March 12, but I don't think I'm going to wait 2 more weeks here.  I am going to call the nurse at the hosp today & ask her some questions about this & see if I should just come on in.

Red, inflamed & totally too tender to the touch - that speaks of an infection.

So, I might have a lymph node infection here, but either way, this is just too painful to keep dealing with here and totally killing my ability to get any real rest.

Bah humbug.

Okay, hair is dry, time to head on up to the salon now...  :p
